Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: Purfleet Salary: 60,000 – 70,000 (depending on experience) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) activities at a major industrial site in Purfleet. This is a senior, high-impact role with significant responsibility for safety, plant performance and engineering leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Electrical Duty Holder and act as the site HV SAP
- Lead the operation, maintenance and improvement of all EC&I systems
- Plan and manage both preventative and reactive maintenance activity
- Lead and develop the site electrical/EC&I team, including rota management
- Oversee day-to-day contractors and EC&I project work packages
- Drive compliance with BS7671, BS6626 and all relevant legislation
- Administer and maintain site control systems, including PLC maintenance, fault finding and backups
- Plan and deliver major plant outages and shutdowns
- Manage EC&I budgets and critical spare parts inventory
- Explore and deliver energy-saving opportunities to support net-zero ambitions
- Promote a strong culture of safety and ensure safe systems of work
Skills & Experience
- Industrial electrical engineering background
- Time-served electrician or EC&I professional
- Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (HNC/HND with experience also considered)
- Strong knowledge of LV/HV systems, MCCs, motors, VSDs, transformers & switchgear
- Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, industrial communication networks and control loops
- HV SAP experience or willingness to undertake SAP responsibilities
- Understanding of preventative maintenance and structured fault-finding
- Excellent leadership, communication and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
