Building & Construction Project Leader

  • £40 per hour via Umbrella | 12-month initial contract
  • 37-hour week | Hybrid with travel to Stevenage when required
  • Opportunity to lead CAPEX projects end-to-end within a highly regulated engineering environment
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance (or already hold it)

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a leading engineering organisation delivering complex infrastructure and facilities projects across highly regulated environments. They are known for driving high standards in safety, quality, and technical excellence across large-scale programmes. Due to continued investment in capital projects, they are looking for an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to join their team.

THE BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION PROJECT LEADER ROLE:

You will be responsible for leading CAPEX building services projects from inception and feasibility through to design, delivery, and handover.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading multi-functional project teams (MFTs) across design and delivery phases
  • Managing building services design for plant replacement and refurbishment projects
  • Developing project plans, managing risks, and overseeing delivery
  • Liaising with clients, architects, and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring site activity to ensure technical compliance and H&S standards
  • Producing reports, specifications, and project documentation

BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION PROJECT LEADER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proven experience delivering CAPEX or building services projects end-to-end
  • Strong background in mechanical & electrical building services
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage project plans, risks, budgets, and delivery timelines
  • Experience within FM, consultancy, or similar environments
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Building Services or related discipline
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with tools such as MS Project, SharePoint or similar
