Technical Lead

We’re looking for experienced Technical Leads to drive delivery across complex, mission‑critical programmes in the Defence & Security sector. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll shape technical direction, lead high‑performing teams, and deliver impactful solutions in challenging environments.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across the full delivery lifecycle
• Set technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards
• Stay hands‑on with development while guiding team output
• Run code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency
• Mentor and support engineers at all levels
• Work closely with clients to shape requirements and build trusted relationships
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
• Plan delivery, estimate work, and manage priorities
• Balance technical debt with delivery timelines in fast‑paced environments

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience in a Technical Lead or senior engineering role
• Strong software engineering background with hands‑on capability
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in complex environments
• Ability to define architecture and make sound technical trade‑offs
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working directly with clients or end users

Bonus Skills

• Experience in Defence, Security, or other high‑assurance environments
• Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
• Strong understanding of scalable systems and modern architectures

Security Requirement

SC clearance (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) is required.
