Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable FLT /Overhead Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by managing the loading and unloading of goods, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to handle materials safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods safely.
  • Manage the movement of products within the warehouse, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval.
  • Maintain an organised warehouse environment, including proper storage of materials.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any repair needs.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Perform basic maths calculations for inventory management and stock control.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an FLT / Overhead Crane Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
  • Valid forklift licence is essential; additional certifications are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle materials safely.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
  • Basic maths skills for inventory management tasks.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving operations is desirable.
