Civil Structural Engineer (Reinforced Concrete / Temporary Works)

  • Location: Bristol – Hybrid Working
  • Salary/Rate: Up to £40 Per Hour Inside IR35
  • Start Date: May / June (candidates must be UK-based)

We are looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing team supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C-one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nuclear-grade reinforced concrete structures, gaining exposure to advanced construction methods including 3D BIM rebar modelling (TEKLA), within a highly regulated environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesYou will play a key role in supporting site-based design and construction activities, including:

  • Modifying reinforced concrete and steel designs in line with Eurocodes / ETC-C
  • Coordinating detailing with CAD and BIM teams (2D & 3D modelling)
  • Managing engineering changes in line with QA procedures

Responding to:

  • Field Change Requests (FCRs)
  • Field Information Requests (FIRs)
  • Non-Conformances (NCRs)

Liaising with:

  • Site construction teams
  • Internal multidisciplinary teams
  • Reviewing and approving contractor deliverables
  • Conducting site walkdowns and inspections

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Up to ~5 years’ experience in Civil / Structural / Infrastructure Engineering
  • Experience with reinforced concrete design
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Desirable

  • Temporary Works or Method Engineering
  • Highly regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, rail, heavy infrastructure)
  • Design-to-construction transition
  • Working alongside contractors on site
  • Exposure to BIM / TEKLA modelling
