Job Description The postholder will play a vital role in supporting ISS teams through the introduction of regenerated frozen meals and building strong food safety culture across all sites. While primarily focused on the Education contract, this role also offers opportunities to support wider accounts such as Government and Healthcare settings during school holidays, providing valuable breadth of experience and career development. Key Responsibilities Act as the lead Food Safety Consultant for the West Sussex Local Education contract. Support and at later stage lead on mobilisation activities for new contracts. Implement the ISS Food Safety Management System and associated documentation. Carry out internal food safety audits, including revisits to underperforming sites. Provide expert food safety advice, guidance, and recommendations to operational teams. Deliver training and support training development with L&D teams. Lead escalation and management of food and allergen incidents, including suspected food poisoning cases. Support the transition from microwave meals to regenerated oven-prepared meals, including training delivery. Assist with writing policies, procedures, and food safety documentation. Work collaboratively with management teams to embed strong Food Safety and HSEQ culture. Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Level 4 Food Safety or higher qualification (Degree/Masters acceptable). Experience in a food safety role such as Food Safety Auditor, EHO, Food Safety Officer, Environmental Health Practitioner, Technical Food Safety specialist, or Consultant. Valid UK driving licence for travel across the region. Experience in HACCP, auditing, incident investigation, and training delivery. Capable of influencing and building positive safety culture, engaging managers and frontline colleagues at all levels. Excellent organisational skills, able to manage workload independently across a large geographical patch.
