AsaPeople Business Partner,you’llwork closely with senior leaders to help them achieve their goals through their people. Acting as a trusted adviser and internal consultant,you’lluse insight, coaching and professionalexpertiseto support workforce planning, organisational performance, leadershipcapabilityand effective change. Working as part of a national People team,you’llhelp deliver a consistent and positive experience for colleagues and volunteers, while ensuring people solutions are aligned to organisational priorities.

With a strong focus oncoachingandcontinuous improvement,you’llbalancestrategic thinkingwithpragmaticdelivery.Using yourbroadgeneralist skillsandsupport from the specialist teams within the People Directorate,you’lldelivereffective and informed people solutions.You’llinfluence decision-making at a national level, contributingtostrategic projects and play an important part in helping the organisation adapt,evolveand deliver on its long-term ambitions.

Athis is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’lltalk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Lead People Business Partner,you’llpartner with senior leaders to understand organisational priorities andprovideexpert people advice that supports performance,engagementand long-term success. Using people data, workforceinsightsand external best practice, you willidentifyopportunities for improvement and help shape effective people solutions. You will coach and support leaders to build their confidence and capability, helping them lead their teams successfully and create positive working environments. You will work with specialist colleagues to support talent and succession planning, recruitment activity, inclusion, learning and development, employeerelationsand organisational change.You’llalso contribute to national projects and initiatives, supporting the delivery of a joined-up and consistent people service while ensuring colleagues and volunteers have access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll bring a broad range of the following knowledge,skillsand experience, shaped bydifferent roles, sectors or career paths, and the judgment to apply them effectively at scale;

  • Significant generalist HR experience
  • Experience coaching senior managers to build capability,confidenceand effective leadership
  • Experience aligning people strategies and interventions with wider organisational objectives
  • Experience coordinating and implementing organisational change and leading people-focused projects
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and influenceand challengewithin a matrix environment
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, use people data and insight effectively, and recommend practical solutions that support decision-making
  • Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to inclusion, with the ability to promote inclusive practices and create environments where people feel valued and supported
