We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager responsible for the delivery of projects, initiating and managing delivery controls and support and providing proportionate assurance. The role involves designing and delivering client projects, understanding various project methodologies, contributing to our practice approaches and collateral, and ensuring knowledge retention and reuse. The post-holder will be part of the growing Business Change practice, reporting to the Head of Change Delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects end‑to‑end, ensuring delivery to agreed parameters of quality, time and cost.
- Lead the development of the overall project approach, utilising project methodologies and techniques while ensuring effective collaboration with all colleagues and teams.
- Understand high‑level technical and digital design, facilitate debate and drive decisions on appropriate solutions.
- Ensure relevant stakeholders and team members are engaged throughout; agree and communicate processes and timelines.
- Ensure the project is commercially viable and delivers value, considering the impacts and opportunities for existing services.
- Manage stakeholders, maintain delivery pace and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Foster collaboration across project and internal boundaries.
- Manage plans, risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as necessary and owning them until resolution.
- Manage team dynamics, encouraging collaboration and shared ownership, handling conflict and supporting a positive team culture.
- Actively manage change and governance for projects, taking cross‑project impacts into account.
- Manage integration and coordination with other delivery teams and programme governance.
- Track and manage project progress and budget, providing accurate reporting to senior project managers and governance boards.
- Contribute to business development – extensions and further work opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of new products and services and evolve existing offerings in line with market knowledge and company capability.
- Contribute to and support internal change projects.
- Actively participate in Communities of Practice.
Qualifications
- Successful delivery of projects, particularly in digital and technological domains, with a strong Agile methodology skillset.
- Experience in a complex and dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects across diverse disciplines.
- Full project lifecycle experience and a track record of managing multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of project methodologies, Prince2, Agile, Scrum, SDLC/Waterfall and other frameworks.
- Specialist knowledge of digital and technology project management methods in large‑scale, complex environments.
- Ability to build successful delivery teams, understand different team styles and how people work together, and to motivate and influence teams.
- Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills, with an understanding of challenges faced in public‑sector delivery and an interest in innovating with new techniques and technology.
