Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has ambitious plans to transform healthcare in North Manchester through the North Manchester General Hospital Redevelopment Programme, which will deliver a new hospital and health campus at the existing North Manchester General Hospital site. This major investment will support the transformation of how we deliver our services and create modern facilities that support world‑class clinical care for our communities. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest public sector health transformation programmes being delivered across Manchester.
The role supports the integration of intelligent hospital capabilities, including digitally empowered patients through accessible, interoperable systems; smart buildings designed with embedded digital infrastructure to support real-time data, automation, and predictive maintenance; digitally enabled staff with tools that enhance clinical workflows and decision‑making; hospitals without walls, promoting integrated care across physical and virtual environments.
Main duties of the job
The NMGH New Hospital Business Analyst will provide expert analytical support that will underpin the digital transformation of NMGH. The postholder will be responsible for determining and implementing future requirements through the analysis and review of systems and processes. They will lead on requirements gathering, process mapping, benefits realisation, and stakeholder engagement to ensure digital and operational solutions align with strategic objectives. In addition, they will identify where improvements and efficiencies can be gained and drive forward the requirements through to business case recommendation.
Person Specification
- Master’s level qualification or equivalent level of experience within Informatics
- BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis
- Highly developed experience in gathering and documenting requirements across a broad spectrum of specialties through the identification and evaluation of a range of options and supporting business cases whilst taking into account scope, budget, timescales, benefits, risk and quality in support of the business need
- Highly developed knowledge of Business Modelling and Analysis
- Analysis and presentation of highly complex data
- Experience within an acute hospital setting
