We are working with a growing Audio Visual & IT services company seeking a highly organised, proactive, and hands‑on Operations Manager to take ownership of day‑to‑day operations and play a key role within the Senior Management Team.
This is a pivotal position within the business, responsible not only for operational delivery but also for driving process improvements, implementing systems, and supporting the company’s continued growth. A key early focus will be leading the implementation of a CRM system and establishing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the organisation.
Working closely with the Directors and wider management team, you will ensure the smooth running of operations across both AV and IT functions, enabling leadership to focus on strategic growth.
Chesham (Office‑Based)
£38,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
Senior Leadership & Business Improvement
- Act as a core member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Lead the implementation and optimisation of a CRM system, ensuring adoption across the business.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
- Continuously review operational performance, identifying and driving improvements across processes, systems, and workflows.
Operations & Logistics
- Take full ownership of kit and equipment logistics: check deliveries against purchase orders, log and manage stock, organise storage and dispatch to client sites.
- Manage supplier relationships and purchasing processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Plan and oversee logistics for AV and IT installations, ensuring correct resources and equipment are on site.
- Maintain accurate stock, asset registers, and inventory controls.
- Ensure helpdesk coverage is effectively scheduled and monitored.
Scheduling & Installation Support
- Coordinate engineer and technician schedules to maximise efficiency across multiple projects.
- Prepare and manage installation documentation, job packs, and supporting materials.
- Track project timelines and ensure installations are delivered on schedule.
- Act as a central point of coordination for engineers, resolving issues and ensuring smooth delivery.
AV & IT Operational Support
- Support service and project delivery by monitoring operational performance.
- Step in to manage or support the helpdesk team when required.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and client experience.
Business Administration
- Raise and track sales invoices, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Liaise with finance on payments, reconciliations, and cost control.
- Maintain operational budgets, reporting, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
Client & Supplier Coordination
- Act as a key point of contact for suppliers, partners, and clients.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication and high levels of service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to support long‑term partnerships.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Senior Operations Coordinator role within AV, IT, or technical services.
- Experience implementing or managing a CRM system (essential).
- Strong experience creating and managing SOPs and operational processes.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior level, contributing to business strategy and improvement.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience scheduling field engineers or technical teams.
- Commercial awareness, including budgets, invoicing, and margin management.
- Calm, structured problem‑solver who performs well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in logistics, stock control, and operational coordination.
- Based locally to Chesham with a full UK driving licence.
