Job Description:

WH Scott Plymouth is currently seeking a motivated and organised Resource Planer to join us. This is a full-time, office-based position working 39 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

  • Coordinate and schedule engineering works in line with customer requirements and operational capacity
  • Maintain and update staff planners to ensure optimal resource allocation
  • Monitor workloads and adjust schedules to meet changing priorities

Customer Communication

  • Liaise with customers to arrange appointments and confirm work schedules
  • Provide updates and handle queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure a high level of customer service at all times

Staff Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering and industrial staff to ensure clear communication of schedules and job requirements
  • Support staff with planning queries and adjustments
  • Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and operational issues

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Provide general financial assistance, including basic reporting, data entry, and tracking of job-related costs
  • Assist with documentation, record keeping, and reporting requirements
  • Support the management team with day-to-day administrative tasks

Reporting & Management Support

  • Report regularly to the Service Management team on scheduling, performance, and resource utilisation
  • Assist management with operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide data and insights to support decision-making

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role (preferred)
  • Background in an engineering or service-based environment (advantageous)

IT Skills Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (data management, basic analysis, spreadsheets), Word (documentation and reporting), PowerPoint (presentations), Experience with SharePoint or similar document management systems, General confidence in using digital systems, scheduling software, and databases
