Job Vacancy: Quality Control Operative

Location: Redditch

Hours: Day shift, 06:30-16:30 (Monday to Friday, 30-minute unpaid break)

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £13.50 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Control Operative to join our busy Distribution Centre team. In this hands‑on, fast‑paced role, you will ensure that all incoming and outgoing stock complies with stringent quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct intake checks on product accuracy, quality, traceability, and shelf‑life
• Perform stock inventory quality checks and counting
• Unload vehicles using FLT/PPT and assist with loading operations
• Maintain clean and safe warehouse areas, including cardboard baling and pallet stacking
• Report product shortages, defects, or non‑conformances to management promptly
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality control and operational checks
• Verify production pre‑release quality and label accuracy
• Ensure correct stock rotation, adhering to Best Before and Use By dates
• Support other warehouse departments as required

Requirements

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution centre role with quality control or assurance responsibilities
• Physically fit and capable of managing manual handling tasks
• FLT licence advantageous
• Strong English literacy skills
• High personal and food hygiene standards
• Flexible and willing to undertake other reasonable duties
• Computer literate with stock management experience
• Team player who can also work independently and use initiative
