Job Title: Interim Director of Finance Operations

Overview
We are partnering with a high-growth, international, private equity-backed business operating across multiple European markets. The organisation is undergoing a period of transformation and requires an experienced interim to bring structure, control and scalability to its finance operations.
This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for stabilising and optimising end-to-end finance operations across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environment. The focus will be on delivering immediate impact, improving processes and supporting ongoing transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end finance operations function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing and collections across multiple regions
- Assess current processes, identify gaps and implement improvements to drive efficiency, control and scalability
- Stabilise and enhance invoicing and collections processes, with a clear focus on cash generation and working capital optimisation
- Oversee customer onboarding and billing processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy across entities
- Ensure robust controls across supplier payments, expenses and master data management
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational issues across finance and the wider business
- Lead and support finance transformation initiatives, particularly around ERP and billing systems
- Partner closely with senior finance leadership (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury) to ensure alignment across the function
- Manage third-party providers and ensure service levels are met
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven track record in interim roles within finance operations, ideally in PE-backed or high-growth environments
- Strong experience across AP, AR, billing and collections in complex, multi-entity organisations
- Demonstrated ability to quickly assess, stabilise and improve finance processes
- Experience operating in international environments with multiple jurisdictions
- Background in technology, software, fintech or similarly complex sectors preferred
- Strong systems exposure, ideally including ERP optimisation (NetSuite or similar)
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambiguity
