The OpportunityWe are seeking a Chartered Principal Bridge Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of bridge and infrastructure projects. You will work as part of a highly experienced, collaborative team, contributing across all project stages from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver design solutions for new and existing bridge structures across a range of materials and structural formsContribute to early-stage project activities including scoping, surveys, inspections, and optioneeringLead and manage detailed design, including analysis, calculations, and oversight of drawing productionSupport business development activities including client engagement and tender submissionsPrepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, reports, and contract documentsUndertake key project roles including design approvals, technical checking, and site representationLiaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams across a variety of sectorsManage project budgets and contribute to commercial performanceRequirements

Chartered Engineer status (ICE, IStructE or equivalent)Minimum 7 years’ post-graduate experience in bridge engineering within consultancy or contracting environmentsStrong technical expertise in bridge design and assessmentExperience managing projects and delivering work within budget constraintsProven involvement in tenders and fee proposalsAbility to lead projects or significant work packagesExperience managing teams and engaging with clients and stakeholdersKnowledge of structural analysis tools, including finite element modellingStrong understanding of UK design standards, including DMRB and EurocodesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalDetail-oriented with the ability to work to tight deadlinesDesirable
