Site Manager – Full-time, permanent from July 2026

This Site Manager role is based within an alternative provision setting that supports young people with social, emotional and mental health needs from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. The school provides a calm, structured, and purposeful environment where strong relationships, clear routines, and high expectations help pupils feel safe, supported, and able to re‑engage with education. Leadership is committed to maintaining a secure and well‑managed site that underpins pupils’ wellbeing, learning, and personal development. This role reports to the senior leadership team.

Duties as Site Manager

  • Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management, maintenance, and security of the school site
  • Ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and well maintained at all times
  • Carry out routine inspections, repairs, and basic maintenance tasks across buildings and grounds
  • Manage contractors and oversee specialist maintenance and repair work
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and statutory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records relating to health and safety checks, risk assessments, and site compliance
  • Support emergency procedures, including fire safety and evacuation drills
  • Work flexibly to support the needs of the school day and wider provision
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and visitors
  • Contribute to a calm and secure environment that supports pupils with SEMH needs

Ideal Site Manager

  • Has proven experience in site management, facilities management, or building maintenance
  • Has a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and statutory compliance
  • Is practical, organised, and able to manage a varied workload independently
  • Is confident liaising with contractors and external services
  • Demonstrates patient, resilient, and empathetic approach when working in an alternative provision setting
  • Understands the needs of young people with SEMH and challenging backgrounds
  • Is reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
  • Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
