Azure Engineer (SC)

Azure Engineer (SC) – Contract – London/Hybrid – £competitive

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an Azure Engineer to work at a leading consultancy client on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will work as part of a large public sector workstream, and will work across infrastructure, automation, operations, and cloud transformation initiatives, responsible for delivering high-quality solutions aligned with industry best practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure solutions across IaaS and PaaS services
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure including compute, networking, identity, and storage
• Develop automated deployments using a range of tooling
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
• Implement and manage security and identity governance
• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and customers to deliver robust cloud solutions

Experience required:

• Proven hands‑on experience with the build, design and deployment Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS)
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (for example Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates)
• Experience with scripting and automation, ideally using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and Azure-native security tools
• Experience working in enterprise cloud environments
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tooling
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC)
