Are you a hands‑on Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, who enjoys travelling to customer sites to solve technical problems?

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high‑precision electro‑mechanical equipment used in production environments, is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team.

You’ll be the go‑to professional for installing, servicing and repairing machinery. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with customer‑facing responsibility, requiring you to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently, commission new equipment on site and provide training to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Traveling across the UK to install, service and repair machinery at customer sites.
  • Responding to urgent breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing activities.
  • Installing new equipment and commissioning machines on customer sites.
  • Delivering face‑to‑face training to customers on safe operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Supporting the manufacturing team with electrical wiring, control panel assembly and machine testing.

Who They’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Field Service Engineer.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with control systems and basic C++ programming, or willingness to develop this skill.
  • Knowledge of wiring, control panels and machine assembly.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability with a proactive, independent mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with proven customer‑facing experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Self‑motivated approach with flexibility for travel and varying working hours.
