South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) is offering a full‑time Administrator/Receptionist position at Tyson West 1 Ward, Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham.

Employment Details

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Working pattern: Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, on site (no remote working)
  • Pay: £29,651 to £31,312 per annum inclusive of HCAS
  • Band: 3

Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective and efficient reception and administrative service, including handling telephone enquiries, taking and passing accurate messages to the relevant team member.
  • Interact with the public face‑to‑face in a courteous and kind manner and direct them to the appropriate professional.
  • Manage supplies of patient information such as welcome packs and monitoring stationary and office stock.
  • Assist with data entry, scanning and uploading documents to the Trust patient database and support statistical reporting.
  • Book interpreters, taxis and other service users as required.
  • Assist in the completion of mandatory training and participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal meetings.
  • Perform any additional duties requested by the Business Manager or Team Leaders to support the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Good standard of general education including English and Mathematics grades A‑C (A).
  • Essential: One year experience as a receptionist or secretary in an office environment.
  • Essential: Excellent written communication skills, good telephone manner, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Essential: Awareness of confidentiality and ability to work under pressure.
  • Desirable: Administration qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Desirable: Experience working in an NHS or social services environment.
  • Desirable: Understanding of mental health awareness.
  • Desirable: Experience with electronic patient record systems and the Electronic Patient Journey System (ePJS).
  • Desirable: Experience of racial awareness/diversity training.
