Location: Field-Based (3 Roles 3 Patches Midlands, Lancashire, Yorkshire Person must be on patch if not near)

Holiday: 20 Days + Bank Holidays

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation within the facilities, maintenance, and property services sector. This is a field-based role focused on new business generation, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of your sales pipeline and contribute to the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and market research
  • Build, manage, and maintain a strong and consistent sales pipeline
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers via telephone, email, LinkedIn, and face-to-face meetings
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to negotiation and closing
  • Prepare and present quotations, ensuring commercial viability and profitability
  • Develop long-term client relationships and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify potential growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, to support business development strategies
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and site visits as required
  • Complete tender documentation in line with company and compliance standards
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate records of activity and pipeline management

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a business development or sales role
  • Demonstrable success in generating new business and building a sales pipeline
  • Background in facilities management, construction, property, electrical, or a related sector
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships at all levels
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and target-driven
  • Proactive approach to time management and workload
  • Full UK driving licence is essential

Additional Information

  • Field-based role with approximately 80% of time spent attending client meetings, site visits, and networking events
  • 20% office-based or remote administrative work, including follow-ups and pipeline management
