Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation within the facilities, maintenance, and property services sector. This is a field-based role focused on new business generation, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of your sales pipeline and contribute to the company’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and market research
- Build, manage, and maintain a strong and consistent sales pipeline
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers via telephone, email, LinkedIn, and face-to-face meetings
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to negotiation and closing
- Prepare and present quotations, ensuring commercial viability and profitability
- Develop long-term client relationships and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify potential growth opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, to support business development strategies
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and site visits as required
- Complete tender documentation in line with company and compliance standards
- Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics
- Maintain accurate records of activity and pipeline management
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a business development or sales role
- Demonstrable success in generating new business and building a sales pipeline
- Background in facilities management, construction, property, electrical, or a related sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships at all levels
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and target-driven
- Proactive approach to time management and workload
- Full UK driving licence is essential
Additional Information
- Field-based role with approximately 80% of time spent attending client meetings, site visits, and networking events
