The role

Reporting to the Sales Director, the National Utilities Manager will serve as the face of the business in the utilities market nationwide.

You will identify and convert opportunities, build long-term customer relationships, support project delivery, and ensure solutions are positioned as the preferred choice for water and utility schemes.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being out in the field, engaging with decision-makers, navigating complex procurement environments and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with water authorities, Tier 1 contractors, Tier 2 partners, and major civils/utilities contractors
  • Identify and win new business opportunities across AMP cycles, capital delivery programs, and infrastructure projects
  • Represent the business at site meetings, technical workshops, framework reviews, and industry events
  • Provide technical guidance on product selection, installation methods, and compliance with industry standards
  • Support clients and contractors through the full lifecycle of projects, from tender stage through to commissioning
  • Conduct site visits to assess needs, resolve challenges, and support best-practice application of solutions
  • Work closely with internal technical, operations, and customer support teams to ensure strong project execution
  • Manage key accounts to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • Monitor pipeline activity, competitor movements, market developments, and future framework opportunities
  • Contribute to commercial proposals, bid strategy, and framework submissions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies

What we’re looking for

We are keen to speak with candidates who can bring:

  • Proven experience within the water, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure sectors
  • Strong knowledge of the UK water market and capital delivery environment
  • An established network within water authorities and/or Tier 1 contractors
  • The ability to influence both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness and a track record of identifying and converting opportunities
  • Confidence working autonomously in a national, field-based role
  • A full UK driving license
