MacGregor Black are partnering with a well-established international nursery brand on the search for a UK Sales Manager. This is a hybrid role, based in United Kingdom. You will be required to extensively travel across the country, occasionally internationally.
As the UK Sales Manager, you will be responsible for taking full ownership of the brand’s commercial activity across the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will lead the shift from third-party distribution to direct retail, establish and grow a portfolio of national and independent retail partnerships, and build a scalable commercial operation that delivers consistent, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the UK commercial strategy, working closely with the International Sales Director to ensure plans are aligned with broader growth objectives
- Manage and develop relationships across national retailers, specialist independents, and digital partners – engaging across buying, merchandising, and marketing functions
- Build annual, joint business plans, and sales forecasts with key partners
- Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities that are consistent with the brand’s premium positioning
- Drive sell-in performance and work collaboratively with retailers to maximise sell-through
- Hold regular business reviews with key accounts and maintain accountability against agreed sales and profitability targets
- Work alongside marketing to develop and execute retailer activation plans, product launches, and promotional programmes
- Contribute to retailer education and training activity to strengthen product knowledge and improve conversion
- Maintain strong CRM discipline, provide regular reporting to senior leadership, and feed into forecasting and inventory planning
What are we looking for?
- Solid sales management experience within premium nursery brands, with a demonstrated ability to manage both national accounts and independent retail networks
- A proven track record of growing sales and expanding distribution in a competitive market
- Experience structuring and negotiating commercial agreements with retail partners
- The ability to operate effectively in a business that is evolving – this role demands someone who can build as well as manage
- Existing relationships across relevant UK retail channels
- Familiarity with omnichannel and e-commerce retail environments
- A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Valid UK driving licence
- Fluent English; an additional language is an advantage
- Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office
