Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Positive Behaviour Support Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to lead and develop Positive Behaviour Support across the school, supporting staff, strengthening inclusive practice and ensuring pupils receive personalised, proactive and empowering support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and embed a whole-school Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach, ensuring proactive, person-centred and trauma-informed practices across the academy.
  • Develop, implement and review individual Positive Behaviour Support plans to improve pupil wellbeing, independence, inclusion and quality of life.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training to staff, building confidence, consistency and high-quality PBS practice across all teams.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, families and external professionals to ensure joined-up, effective support for pupils with complex needs.
  • Monitor, evaluate and continuously improve behaviour support systems and practice, promoting evidence-based approaches and maintaining high standards across the school.

Key Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and professional registration with UKSBA, BCBA or HCPC, alongside evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development.
  • Significant experience supporting children and young people with additional needs, including extensive experience working with autistic pupils and behaviours of concern.
  • Proven experience leading Positive Behaviour Support implementation and developing effective, person-centred PBS plans within education, health or care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of autism, learning disabilities, communication differences, safeguarding and behaviour legislation, with a commitment to reducing restrictive practices and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues, model best practice, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a calm, compassionate and solution-focused approach.
