We’re recruiting for Electrical Biased Technicians to join our Estates team; you’ll help keep essential hospital services running safely and smoothly so colleagues can focus on delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will support safe, reliable systems that touch lives across the hospital every day.

What You’ll Do As a Technician

  • Provide specialist electrical advice and support to estates colleagues and contractors
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on plant, equipment, and building infrastructure
  • Undertake fault‑finding, testing, inspection, and diagnosis across complex electrical systems and equipment
  • Complete installation, repair, calibration, and validation tasks in line with relevant regulations and guidance
  • Use calibrated test equipment to ensure safe operation of wiring systems, emergency generators, and critical systems
  • Participate in the on‑call rota to provide emergency out‑of‑hours response
  • Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, test certificates, and reports
  • Support and guide apprentices and maintenance assistants when required

Does this sound like you?

  • A recognised electrical trade qualification and experience working as an Electrician in a complex building environment
  • Strong fault‑finding skills with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise competing demands
  • Knowledge of electrical regulations including BS7671 (Wiring Regulations) and safe systems of work
  • Experience working with Building Management Systems, medical gases, HVAC systems, or similar (training provided where needed)
  • The ability to use your initiative, solve problems, and deliver safe, high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment

Vetting and checks

This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme, which involves a detailed check of spent and unspent convictions and other relevant information to ensure safeguarding compliance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can provide any necessary support to help you carry out your responsibilities.
