An outstanding primary school in Sefton is seeking to appoint a skilled and dedicated Autism Support Assistant to work across the whole school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to deliver targeted interventions and provide high-quality support to pupils with autism and associated needs.
The Role
- Deliver targeted interventions to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Provide 1:1 support tailored to individual EHCP targets and learning needs
- Work with small groups to develop communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
- Implement structured intervention programmes and track pupil progress
- Promote and maintain outstanding behaviour through consistent application of the school’s behaviour policy
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and wider staff to ensure a cohesive approach to support
The Ideal Candidate
Requirements
- References covering the last 5 years
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this)
