The Team

The Commercial Disputes team in Manchester is the largest practice of its kind in the region and is described by market commentators as the strongest litigation team in the area by some margin. It handles a broad spectrum of complex disputes, including contractual claims, corporate disputes, fraud, finance, insurance, IP, IT, competition, and property litigation.

The Role

You will manage a diverse and varied commercial disputes caseload, with the opportunity to develop expertise in any number of specialist areas. You will gain exposure to a multitude of forums and cross-border disputes, working closely with UK and international partners.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE in commercial disputes
  • Ability to support cases across a broad range of disputes, with a sound technical understanding of the law
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills, with a commercial and pragmatic approach
  • Self-motivated, able to work to deadlines in a challenging environment, and keen to be involved in training, marketing, and business development
  • A collaborative team player who can work across offices and borders, liaising with fee earners from other disciplines as needed
