We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician – Combustion to join our team, based at Steppingley Hospital covering multiple sites across Bedfordshire. This is a key role where you will deliver high-quality maintenance services in a healthcare environment, ensuring safety, compliance and excellent service standards.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary from £41,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • On‑call allowance (rota‑based)
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Company van and tools provided
  • Full‑time, permanent role

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency call‑outs
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with statutory regulations and NHS standards
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and records
  • Work collaboratively with the wider maintenance team and on‑site stakeholders
  • Follow company policies and procedures within a healthcare environment

Who We’re Looking For

You are a reliable and experienced combustion professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment, understand the importance of safety and compliance, and bring a positive, proactive attitude to the team.

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
  • Domestic & commercial gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CPA1, COCN1/CODNCO1, CIGA1, TPCP1A
  • Experience working on commercial mechanical systems
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and plumbing building services
  • Full UK driving licence

Additional Requirements

  • Comfortable using technology to log work and manage schedules
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience within a similar environment (desirable)

DBC and DVLA checks will be required.
