Overview
Tesco Shift Lead role focuses on leading the team to deliver an outstanding customer experience in-store.
Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Minimum 16 hours per week, 12 hours available.
Shifts are scheduled within the availability windows provided with at least 3 weeks’ notice. You need to be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in delivering a great customer experience.
- Serve as the go-to person for day‑to‑day operational queries across all store areas.
- Build positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
- Confidently lead the store in the Manager’s absence.
- Make balanced, flexible decisions and adapt well to change.
- Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.
- Stay curious and seek opportunities to serve customers, communities, and the planet better every day.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
- Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
- A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
- A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
