Hours: 1950 hours per annum, equivalent to 37.5 per week.

Working pattern: 9-5 in summer opening hours and 9-4 in winter opening hours, including at least one day on the weekend and occasional late evening openings at 8:30 pm during summer. Bank holidays are included.

Salary: £27,612 per annum.

Duration: Permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to keep everything running smoothly day‑to‑day and to make sure every visitor feels warmly welcomed.
  • Support the team across all areas, helping keep standards high in both what we serve and how we serve it.
  • Share ideas, spot opportunities, and help us create a great experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
  • Help make this a place where people enjoy coming to work, including recruiting, supporting training and working with the Manager to put together team rotas.
  • Look after the entire operation, keeping consistently high standards in the team, outlets, and in the food and drink we prepare and serve.
  • Set and achieve financial targets to increase income and profits, driving sales through controlling resources and delivering the best possible customer service.
  • Ensure the team follows all relevant legislation and National Trust policies.
  • Provide induction, training in allergens and food safety, and mentoring as required.

Qualifications

  • Used to achieving outstanding customer service in a similar environment.
  • Good leader of people, skilled in setting personal objectives and giving feedback.
  • Experienced with budgets to increase income and control costs (including managing stock and waste).
  • People person, with a friendly attitude and great communication skills.
  • Aware of health and safety compliance.
