Job Title

Handyperson/Painter – Novotel York

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality painting work on interior and exterior surfaces
  • Execute general maintenance and repair tasks, including basic carpentry and plumbing
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
  • Mix and match paint colors to meet specific requirements
  • Maintain and organize tools and equipment
  • Identify and report any major maintenance issues to management
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a handyperson or painter
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques and use of painting tools
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Relevant vocational training in painting or general maintenance (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
