Location: Swindon

Pay: £17.25 – £26.93 per hour

Overview

Pertemps is recruiting experienced 7.5t (C1) day drivers to support operations at the Swindon Mail Centre for Royal Mail. This role offers reliable trunking work, competitive pay, and flexible shifts with an established logistics operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete planned trunk runs between Royal Mail depots, transporting mail and parcels.
• Operate clean, well‑maintained vehicles from organised depots.
• Occasionally move mail cages as required, while prioritising safe and efficient driving.
• Follow driver hours and WTD regulations.
• Complete manual tachograph entries when required.
• Maintain a professional standard of driving and site conduct.

Working Hours

• Start times between 04:00 – 10:00
• Start times between 11:00 – 16:00
• Start times between 18:00 – 02:00

What You’ll Need

• Valid 7.5t (C1) licence held for at least 2 years
• 180+ days proven commercial driving experience
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, IN, CD, TT endorsements)
• Good knowledge of driver hours and WTD rules
• Ability to complete manual tachograph entries
• Pass a DBS security check
• Successful site assessment and induction
