Job Description

The role of a TEGG Technician is to provide the predictive, proactive and preventive test technologies as described in the TEGG Service preventive maintenance agreements and TEGG Task software. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install electrical systems and related equipment as assigned. Assume day‑to‑day coordination of specific agreements or DES work, as assigned, to assure contractual commitments are met in a timely, cost‑effective manner.

  • Hours: 7 am – 4 pm (flexible in line with business needs; overtime paid if agreed)
  • Location: Site based / Greenwich
  • Salary: DOE

Requirements

  • Manage personal time to assure maximum productivity. Demonstrate capability of handling a heavy workload of calls.
  • Understand electrical systems, appropriate codes and industry standards. Assure that permits are secured where applicable. Provide design input as requested.
  • Communicate information customers should know.
  • Assure that the customer has a thorough understanding of the ongoing or future work the company is performing.
  • UK driving license.
  • Ability to comprehend the basics of operating a personal computer and accessing software programs as needed.
  • Ability to understand the basics of word processing software package functions including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, MS Word.

Responsibilities

  • Upon receiving a customer complaint, follow systematic questioning techniques and relate answers to the functioning of systems.
  • Follow point‑by‑point troubleshooting guides to find equipment faults quickly.
  • Avoid needless callbacks by checking the complete system before leaving the job.
  • Check safety and limit controls for proper settings before leaving the job.
  • When faced with a seemingly unsolvable problem, seek assistance of others to solve the problem.
  • Use proper tools and instruments for troubleshooting.
  • Use expert troubleshooting knowledge to assist other certified TEGG electricians/technicians in solving problems.
  • Adhere to a planned call schedule.
  • Complete a service report prior to leaving the jobsite.
