Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for a defined payroll area as directed by the payroll manager, implementing necessary updates on a regular basis.
- Data entry ensuring a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure payments comply with national terms and conditions, local policies and statutory legislation.
- Make correct payments or deductions in relation to changes of service conditions, re‑grading, promotions, etc., and contact the relevant manager as needed.
- Actively investigate any discrepancies and satisfactorily explain individual pay matters.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, maintaining excellent communication, numeracy and computer skills.
- Organise work, remain conscientious and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions is advantageous; prior payroll experience is also desirable.
- Excellent communication, numeracy and computer skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, organised and conscientious, capable of working under pressure.
- Full training will be provided if required.
