Early Years Assistant – Canaan Lane Primary & ELC
Hours: 26 per week, 39 weeks sessionalSalary: £26,806-£27,032 (Pro rata for part time and sessional)
We are seeking to appoint two Early Years Assistants to work at Canaan Lane Primary School, a new school in the south of Edinburgh. The school has Primary 1-4 classes and an Early Learning and Childcare facility. The Early Learning facility provides nurturing, creative, well‑resourced environments where 3‑5 year‑olds are supported to discover a love of learning.
Candidates should have a passion for play‑based learning, wellbeing, inclusive practice and nurturing approaches. They should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, model high pedagogical standards and support colleagues in developing classroom practice. It is a requirement that a qualification in early years and childcare is obtained within three years of joining.
Interview week commencing 25th June; anticipated start mid‑August.
- Regulated work with children and protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- Preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Overseas Criminal Record Check required for those with 3 months or more out of the UK in last 5 years.
