Job Description:

This is a temporary role to provide high-quality teaching on our short courses programme for students, staff, and the public. Classes are taught in the evenings after 6 pm, both in person and online. Usually, classes run over three terms of ten weeks each, starting in October, January and April.

We are looking for individuals who are experienced in teaching one of the following languages:

  • Korean

At the time of advertising, we are unable to commit to guaranteed hours as this is dependent on our upcoming enrolment numbers, which will be confirmed nearer the term start. It is expected that work will be aligned to three terms starting in October, January and April, running for 10 weeks each term. We are asking people to have flexibility in their availability, which will be discussed with you at the offer stage if you’re successful. Once you accept the assignment, you will be agreeing to deliver a total of 15 hours of teaching, 1.5 hours/ week x 10 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver in-person and/or online classes for learners on our short courses programme on weekday evenings.
  • Create general and week-by-week syllabi for the relevant language and level.
  • Maintain the digital learning platform for students.
  • Liaise with the relevant Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, and Professional Services Team to ensure timely communication and smooth delivery of classes.
  • Attend team meetings and professional development sessions as required.
  • The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

Experience / Skills

  • Experience in teaching language classes at various levels for a range of different learners
  • Native level fluency in one of the following languages Dutch, Swedish, Gujarati, Hindi or Panjabi
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Skills in using digital platforms and MS Office software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

Teaching qualification or degree in a relevant subject area
