ITSM ServiceNow Developer? Liverpool (Hybrid Working)? Permanent

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ServiceNow ITSM Developer to take ownership of a critical enterprise platform. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and ongoing optimisation of ServiceNow, with a strong focus on out-of-the-box (OOTB) configuration over customisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical delivery, governance, and stakeholder collaboration while driving best practice across the platform.

Platform Ownership

  • Maintain the health, performance, and scalability of the ServiceNow platform
  • Manage upgrades, testing cycles, and remediation of issues
  • Oversee integrations, MID Servers, and platform life cycle activities

Development & Configuration

  • Deliver solutions using a configuration-first approach (UI Policies, Business Rules, Flow Designer, etc.)
  • Develop custom solutions only where justified by clear business need
  • Build and maintain integrations (REST, SOAP, webhooks, identity platforms, etc.)

Governance & Best Practice

  • Enforce platform standards including naming conventions, update set management, and security controls
  • Support data model integrity and alignment with best practice frameworks (eg, ITIL, CSDM)
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and platform direction

Quality & Operations

  • Own CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (ATF), and deployment controls
  • Ensure regression testing and platform reliability
  • Monitor performance, manage technical debt, and maintain operational excellence

    Collaboration

    • Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape backlog and requirements
    • Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team

    About You

    • Proven experience in ServiceNow development and/or administration (approx. 2-4 years)
    • Strong knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request, etc.)
    • Hands‑on experience with configuration-first development approaches
    • Exposure to integrations, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

    Desirable

    • ITIL v4 Foundation
    • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, or specialist certifications)

    What You’ll Get

    • Competitive salary and discretionary bonus
    • Hybrid working model
    • Generous pension and benefits package
    • Private medical insurance
    • Learning and certification support
    • Flexible holiday options
    • A collaborative, forward-thinking environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement

    Why Apply?

This is a great opportunity to take a lead role in shaping and governing a modern ServiceNow platform, working in a business that values long-term thinking, continuous improvement, and high-quality delivery.
