About The Role
We are seeking a talented iOS Developer to join our expanding mobile engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality native iOS applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA engineers to create scalable, secure, and high-performance mobile solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects that impact a broad user base while enhancing your technical expertise in a supportive and dynamic team setting. The role is hybrid, requiring one day per week on‑site in Glasgow for local candidates or one day per month for remote employees, fostering flexibility and work‑life balance.
Qualifications
To thrive in this position, candidates should have a proven track record in developing native iOS applications within Agile frameworks. A strong understanding of mobile development best practices, UI/UX principles, and responsive design are essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Swift and/or Objective‑C, experience integrating RESTful APIs and third‑party libraries, and familiarity with version control tools such as Git. Additionally, a solid grasp of debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization techniques, along with knowledge of unit testing and automated testing, are required. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, combined with a passion for continuous learning and staying current with iOS advancements, will ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop native iOS applications using Swift and/or Objective‑C, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver intuitive, user‑focused mobile interfaces that meet project requirements.
- Integrate and optimize RESTful APIs and third‑party services to enhance app functionality.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in testing practices to improve code quality and application stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges efficiently.
- Support and enhance existing mobile applications through ongoing improvements and feature updates.
- Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies, including planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Research and implement the latest iOS frameworks, tools, and technologies to keep applications current and innovative.
