Full Time, Permanent – Location: Hybrid working, expected to attend 100 Temple Street at least once a week. This a community-based role; you will visit service users in their own homes throughout the Bristol City area.
Role Overview
Support Workers in the Community Support Team provide high‑quality, person‑centred support to vulnerable adults to prevent homelessness, promote independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Work directly in the community and in people’s homes, supporting individuals to sustain tenancies, access appropriate accommodation and engage with relevant services.
- Manage a caseload and deliver targeted, time‑limited and outcome‑focused homelessness prevention support, including working with Bristol City Council tenants at risk of homelessness due to rent arrears.
- Assess needs, develop and deliver support plans, and work flexibly with people who may have a range of complex needs.
- Maintain excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills, and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced client‑focused environment.
- Collaborate with a friendly team, shadow experienced colleagues, and complete a comprehensive induction programme.
Qualifications & Experience
- Sound knowledge of housing, homelessness and welfare benefits.
- Experience working with vulnerable people.
- Strong commitment to public service.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
- Works flexibly to meet the needs of service users.
Other Requirements
Enhanced DBS Check is required.
