About the Role
As an experienced Upholsterer, you will play a key role in crafting high‑quality furniture, taking pieces from frame preparation and spring fitting to final fabric or leather upholstery. Working within a collaborative team, you will uphold our exacting standards of craftsmanship while maintaining a safe, efficient, and clean workspace.

Responsibilities
- Being self‑motivated to produce high‑quality upholstered products in line with specifications
- Ensuring all products produced are of the highest quality and ready to go to our customers
- Preparing frames for upholstery including adding different foams and fibres
- Using a range of springs to ensure our products are prepared for upholstery
- Filling cushions using different fillings to complete the product
- Working with a large range of materials including fabrics and leathers to upholster our products
- Cutting various materials ready for upholstery
- Ensuring tension and straining methods are used when positioning materials
- Using a range of trimmings and finishings including buttons, facings, piping and decorative studs
- Using compressed air equipment like staple guns as well as hand tools
- Creating different types of pleats including scroll arm, envelope and puckering
- Ensuring you work as part of a team on piece work production, to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly
- Maintaining your knowledge of all DFS products to ensure you know the specifications
- Ensuring that the Company’s Health and Safety Policies are applied and adhered to
- Ensuring your workspace is tidy and not causing any obstruction for you or your colleagues
- Assisting on other areas of manufacturing
Qualifications
- You have upholstery experience
- Hands‑on experience working with power tools
- Can work in a high‑pressure and high‑volume environment
- A keen eye for detail
- Logical problem solver
- Organised
- Highly motivated
