Activity Coordinator
Location: Westcombe Park Care Home, 112a Westcombe Park, Road, Blackheath, London SE3 7RZ
Contract: Permanent – Part Time
Hours: 23 hours per week – (Saturday and Sunday and one day during the week.)
Salary: £12.75 to £13.75 per hour, depending on experience

Westcombe Park is a modern care home situated in a pleasant leafy neighbourhood of south‑east London. It warmly welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care and also provides respite and convalescence care. The home is close to local transport links and a few minutes’ drive from the A2. It has a bus route stopping directly outside, making visiting easier and is only a few minutes’ walk to local amenities, shops and the local bank. Staff take great care to focus on the person; residents feel at home with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.
The chefs create well‑crafted menus with fresh ingredients and cater for all ethnicity groups. Staff discuss personal preferences and dietary needs with residents. The home fosters a sense of community; staff organise activities around residents’ interests, from hobbies to new pursuits.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help make health happen by:
- Running morning and afternoon activity sessions.
- Producing and updating an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget.
- Organising birthday surprises for residents.
- Liaising with external companies and performers to organise days out/events.
- Organising one‑to‑one sessions with residents (reminiscing tools, puzzles, reading or a cup of tea and a chat).
- Supporting the home’s social media channels as required.

You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, can manage budgets and maintain paperwork, effectively managing priorities as they arise. You want to make a real difference, are interested in caring for others and share your sense of humour and enthusiasm for making people’s lives better.
