We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Highways Engineer to join our busy Transport Engineering Team in London, Bristol, or Manchester.

The Role

  • Lead on managing project execution for a wide range of projects.
  • Help grow the team through business development from new and existing clients.
  • Act as a project manager to deliver complex infrastructure projects, manage proposal development, undertake business development initiatives and manage client relationships.
  • Provide workload allocation to team members and other disciplines, and mentor and coach other engineers.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction, planning, and development of the team.
  • Collaborate across SLR disciplines including Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water, and Environmental Specialist Services.
  • Opportunity to travel across Europe and engage in internal business development within a consultancy environment.

About You

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Proven business development capabilities and the ability to manage high‑level client relationships, and to win and deliver new work through both existing and new client contacts.
  • Experience leading and managing teams of professional, engineering and operational staff in a project, consultancy or contracting environment, including proposal and tender writing.
  • Strong leadership, project management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and experience managing, mentoring and coaching staff.
  • In‑depth knowledge of UK engineering guidance.
