Job description

We are looking for a capable Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to work as 1‑1 support for a child with additional learning needs. The role will support children both in the classroom and on a 1‑1 basis to access the curriculum, further develop communication skills and support the implementation of targets from their individual Development Plans.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of appropriate programmes of activity for the children in collaboration with the class teacher.
  • Maintain a full understanding of the school systems of record keeping and keep records of the children’s development using SeeSaw.
  • Assist with the Breakfast Club routines each morning.
  • Provide an attractive and stimulating range of equipment, activities and displays, indoors and out, relevant to the ages and needs of the children, which encourage independence, self‑motivation and eagerness to learn.
  • Provide a high‑quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development.
  • Be familiar with the National Minimum Standards and guidelines and recommendations of good practice and assist in their implementation.
  • Share responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.

The vacancy is for 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:00.
