Coders Connect is partnering with a fast growing fintech business in London, hiring a Product Engineer to join a small, ambitious engineering team at an important stage of growth.
This is a hands on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys building product, not just writing code. You will own features from idea through to production, work closely with product and business stakeholders, and help shape how technology is used to improve customer experience, delivery speed and engineering quality.
The team is looking for someone pragmatic, curious and comfortable with ambiguity. You should enjoy solving real customer problems, communicating clearly, and building simple, maintainable systems that can scale.
What you will be doing
- Owning product features end to end, from problem definition to production delivery
- Building across a modern full stack environment
- Working closely with product, commercial and internal stakeholders
- Turning business goals into clear, technically sound delivery plans
- Challenging requirements thoughtfully to make sure the team builds the right thing
- Improving engineering standards across code quality, testing, architecture and CI/CD
- Using AI supported development tools, such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot, to improve speed and quality
- Identifying opportunities for automation and smarter ways of working
What they are looking for
- Around 3 to 6 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Full Stack Engineer or similar
- Experience working with relational databases
- Familiarity with AWS or a comparable cloud environment
- Experience owning features from discovery or problem definition through to release
- Comfortable working in a small team where priorities can evolve quickly
- Strong communication skills and genuine interest in product, customers and business outcomes
- Experience using AI coding tools in a professional or serious project context
- Ideally experience in fintech, lending, banking or another regulated environment
- Ideally experience in a startup or smaller company environment
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related subject is preferred
- Personal side projects, open source work or builder style projects would be a strong plus
Technology environment
You do not need to have used every tool in the stack. The key requirement is strong full stack engineering ability, good product judgement and the ability to build maintainable systems without unnecessary complexity.
Working model and package
- London based hybrid role, around 2 days per week in the office
- Salary range, £80,000 to £115,000 depending on experience
Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
The process is expected to include an initial conversation, a product focused discussion and a final technical or leadership stage.
Further details will be shared with relevant candidates as they move through the process.
Why this role is interesting
This is a chance to join a fintech business where the product has strong traction and the engineering function is being built for the next stage. It should suit someone who enjoys ownership, product thinking, pragmatic engineering and working close to the business.
