Job Description:

SBA are currently supporting our Consultancy client, whose end client within Central Gov are seeking a Senior Solution Architect on an initial 12 month contract.

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days p/w required)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop comprehensive architectural designs and frameworks for complex systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and backlogs to deliver against.
  • Oversee the implementation of solutions, providing guidance and support to delivery squads throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing systems and recommend enhancements or replacements as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform solution design and strategy.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations to communicate architectural concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role within a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of on premise and hybrid architectures, cloud computing, microservices architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience of designing, assuring and implementing solutions within secure environments
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working within UK Government, public sector, or defence and security programmes.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Google Dedicated Cloud (GDC) environments.
  • Experience working in disconnected environments.
  • Understanding of GDS Service Standard, Cabinet Office delivery governance, or equivalent public sector frameworks and NCSC guidance.
  • Experience working alongside or within a SAFe Agile Release Train, with exposure to PI Planning and ART-level ceremonies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification, AWS equivalent)
  • UK Government Security Clearance (SC or above)
