Overview
Our prestigious client based near Abingdon, which works in the Medical sector, is looking for a Production Engineer to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
The main focus is to facilitate the manufacturing of high‑quality existing and new products through engineering support services, process definition and enhancement, and CAD model maintenance.
- Create and update CAD drawings for parts and assemblies.
- Prepare and file change requests with required paperwork and drawings.
- Identify replacement parts for obsolete items.
- Review and update device master and history records.
- Collaborate with New Product Development to ensure design for manufacture, assembly, and test principles.
- Support new product introduction activities.
- Ensure QMS compliance with USA FDA, ISO 13485, MDD/MDR.
- Review production reject parts, analyze failures, and communicate with suppliers.
- Update or create new procedures for the production line.
- Investigate shop‑floor production issues, root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Improve production processes using kaizen, poke‑yoke, hidden factory, Six Sigma, etc.
Professional/Personal Requirements
- HNC/ONC or extensive experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Process Engineering.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or equivalent); computer literacy including Excel.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
- Highly numerate and analytical.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Proven planning, change management, and organisational skills.
- Excellent people skills.
Salary & Working Hours
Monday to Friday 08:30–17:00 (early finish on Friday). Salary £33,000–£35,000 per annum, on‑site parking, generous pension contribution, bonus scheme.
