We have a part time domesticsupport worker post (band 2).
25 hrs working 5 out of 7 on a pro rota within our tukes/navigo domestics team, working across all our navigo sites.
Main duties of the job
The Domestic support worker will be expected to work as part of a domestic team in achieving and maintaining high infection control standards in all inpatient facilities. These results are instrumental to the role and contribute to CQC standards.
The Band 2 Domestic support Worker will ensure daily communication between the team is recorded, cleaning cupboards kept clean and well maintained and any minor problems dealt with in a timely manner.
Domestic Support Workers be responsible for ensuring sites are of hospital standard, recording and reporting issues to the Domestic team Supervisor.
There may be occasions when it is necessary to assist in the smooth operation of the laundry function (training will be required for this) this includes the laundering and ironing of all non-personal items associated with the inpatient facilities, and other items requested.
It is essential that the post holder is flexible in both hours and travel as there will be occasions when you will be required to work on different sites for the needs of the business, including NAViGO House and Gardiner Hill caravan.
Under the guidance of the Domestic team supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations and meet the standard of cleaning set with in Navigo.
Play a significant role in Tukes members support programme ensuring they are adequately supported and are in receipt of the correct level training to meet their individual development needs.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will undertake a wide range of duties in relation to domestic services on both acute and community sites within various NAViGO locations operated by TUKES. It will also be the post holder’s responsibility to ensure that any additional requests from the sites are dealt with efficiently and effectively whenever possible. Some of the sites provide direct patient services, and it is therefore essential you conduct yourself in a friendly, efficient and approachable manner.
They will play an essential part in Tukes Domestic Service team, and together the team are the first point of contact for Staff and Managers to ensure standards and expectations of Navigo are always maintained.
The Domestic Support Worker will be expected to attend and meet Navigo mandatory training standards and any other training as required.
The post holder should be confident in dealing with minor problems on the site should they arise, reporting any issues which may escalate to the Domestic Team Supervisor.
This is one of many key services we deliver, you will be expected to work professionally as part of the bigger team which is NAViGO. Together you will be contributing towards an efficient and high standard of cleaning to the acute sites of NAViGO to ensure CQC standards are met by focussing on the direct needs of our staff, service users and visitors.
You will provide support for meaningful occupation of time and work placement training to assist in the development of our service users, with the guidance of Tukes navigation Support Workers and peer support promoting the provision of a reliable, high quality, flexible, proactive training provider for our members suitable to their needs.
The role is instrumental to the success of the whole of the TUKES team to ensure that the ethos of TUKES can reach its full potential as part of a bigger picture. Domestic support workers, catering services, Vocational training, employability services and One Front Door Tukes Support will together work to provide the support our service users require enriching their experience of working within TUKES.
