Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Office-based preferred (hybrid considered) Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Somerset is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its friendly and supportive residential property team.

This role is ideal for someone with prior conveyancing experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and supporting high‑quality work. The firm places a strong emphasis on organisation, teamwork, and excellent client care, with a focus on manageable caseloads rather than volume processing.

The Role

You will provide essential support to fee earners handling residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and progressing new conveyancing files
  • Assisting with client onboarding, including AML and due diligence checks
  • Preparing draft contracts and supporting documentation
  • Ordering searches and assisting with Land Registry applications and requisitions
  • Supporting post‑completion processes
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and third parties
  • Managing correspondence, inboxes, and telephone enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant file records

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a residential conveyancing or property role (essential)
  • Good understanding of the conveyancing process
  • Experience with client onboarding and AML procedures (desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident and professional communication skills
  • A team‑oriented approach with a willingness to support colleagues
  • Flexible and reliable, particularly during periods requiring additional team support
