Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) – Primary School

Full‑time, September start, long‑term opportunity at a highly regarded primary school in Brentwood.

About the Role

You will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support throughout the school day, helping them engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and make progress academically and socially.

Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support that encourages confidence and success in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated support for a child with SEN within the classroom
• Supporting learning activities and adapting tasks where appropriate
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive engagement
• Supporting social, emotional, and academic development
• Assisting with classroom routines and transitions
• Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
• Experience working within a primary school or educational setting
• A patient, caring, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children
• A proactive, reliable, and adaptable attitude
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed
