Leith, Edinburgh

£14.00 per hour | Weekly Pay | Monday to Friday | Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Manpower Scotland is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client based in Leith, Edinburgh for an Industrial Hygiene Operative. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and long-standing employer on a long-term temporary basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. The Role

As an Industrial Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the site is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational compliance.

  • Carrying out deep cleaning and sanitation duties across production and operational areas.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment throughout the facility.
  • Completing cleaning schedules and associated documentation accurately.
  • Supporting site compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
  • Assisting with waste management and housekeeping activities across the site.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure hygiene standards are consistently achieved.
  • Supporting other departments when required and participating in additional training opportunities.

  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Prepared for a physically demanding role involving regular manual duties and being on your feet for extended periods.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working within a food manufacturing, production, factory, or industrial environment.
  • Good understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices.
  • Experience working within environments where hygiene and quality standards are critical.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks thoroughly.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

Desirable Skills

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
  • Previous experience within food processing, manufacturing, milling, warehousing, or similar industrial settings.
  • Understanding of waste management and site housekeeping procedures.
