Site Reliability Engineer

Platform Engineering at GoCardless

The Platform Engineering team is a unified, globally distributed team located in London, Riga, and Lisbon. We work with all other engineering teams to empower them to build, release, run and scale their products, focusing on strategic project delivery and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build new platform components from initial design, implementation, to deployment.
• Provide operational support, ensuring system health and stability via on‑call rotations and incident management.
• Maintain business‑as‑usual tasks, continuous improvement, audits and compliance support.

Qualifications / What excites us

• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang.
• Experience with IaC tooling, e.g., Terraform.
• Experience with Terraform automation tools such as Terragrunt or Atlantis is advantageous.
• Experience with cloud computing providers such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with containerised applications and orchestration (Kubernetes, GKE).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD.
• Experience with monitoring tooling: Grafana, Prometheus.
• Experience with relational databases and other datastore optimisation for high availability.
• Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: £78,400 – £117,600
