Role Overview

The role is part of the Floating Support Service within the Homelessness Service, supporting families in Greater Manchester. The position is hybrid: most time spent visiting families in their homes, with a minimum of two days in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to families with individual needs, including working with agencies such as Children’s Services, Mental Health services, and the Housing Management team.
  • Attend meetings with agencies involved in each family’s support plan.
  • Assist families in managing and maintaining their tenancy and helping them move from temporary accommodation to permanent settled accommodation.
  • Work independently in the community, visiting residents across Greater Manchester.

Requirements

  • Important Car User – must hold a full valid driving licence and provide own car for work. Essential Car User Allowance will be provided.
  • At least 3 years of employment history.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance required.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and strong partnership working skills.
  • Personal resilience, commitment to help, solution-focused outlook.
